Matt Boroff is no new-comer to the music industry, having shared stages with the likes of Nirvana, Kyuss (one of Josh Homme’s former bands), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Queens Of The Stone Age, but now he has returned as a solo artist with his new album, Grand Delusion.
The album was recorded at 11AD studios and features producer and multi-instrumentalist Alain Johannes, former Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons and vocalist Mark Lanegan. With the support of musicians like these, you know Grand Delusion is a special piece of work.
Boroff’s record is one of depth and relevance, exploring ideas of love in the new world and whether it has the power to save us from ourselves. Questions are posed throughout Matt’s cryptic lyricism, enaging listeners to decipher the meaning for themselves.
Matt’s distinctive baritone powers the songs, along with walls of heavy guitars and catchy hooks that you’ll be singing in your head for days. With a definite alternative sound, Boroff’s music shouts back to the pioneering rock sounds of the 90s, but with a unique and modern edge.
Grand Delusion is due for release May 5th, whilst Matt will be performing a headline show in London at the Old Blue Last February 6th.
