Alex Ross-Iver presents an alternative Christmas treat – ‘That Time of Year’

Alex Ross IverKnown for his off kilter, electronic approach to pop music, Alex Ross-Iver has once again come up with the alt-pop goods on new single ‘That Time of Year’.

The melancholic but hopeful track talks of a ‘bitter-sweet’ Christmas which is a chance to start again after a difficult year. It’s a sentiment that I’m sure can be appreciated by many – a million miles from Noddy Holder’s cheesy shouts of ‘IT’S CHRIIIIIIIISTMAAAAAAASSS!’

Soundwise, it’s a slow build electro-pop track with a low key approach and chorus. The layering of sounds works well too, from the drums and percussion to the high strings and everything in between. Check it.
