Stunning new single from talented singer-songwriter Lisa Kwei

Taken from her upcoming album The Girl You Left Behind, ‘Take The Fire’ is the stunning new single from talented singer-songwriter Lisa Kwei.

Earmarked as a highly promising emerging artist, Kwei has already received support from the likes of legend DJ David Kid Jensen, esteemed producer Fraser T. Smith (Adele/’Set Fire To The Rain’) and fellow singer Sam Brown. Kwei’s distinct acoustic pop sound, which has been likened to artists such as Dido, KT Tunstall and Beth Orton, has seen her build a dedicated following. Musically, Kwei’s songs create an uplifting feel, as dreamy chords, vocal harmonies and melodies intertwine. Her range of contrasting influences neatly combines in her work to create something fresh and is showcased in new single ‘Take The Fire’.

The track incorporates Kwei’s trademark smooth melodies which sit smartly above a layer of bass and cultured drum beats, courtesy of top session drummer Alun Harries (Bee Gees, Tori Amos, Leo Sayer). The song emanates beauty and the hugely infectious chorus is certain to capture the listener’s attentions. An impressive guitar solo takes hold in the latter stages of the track as gifted guitarist Phil Smith showcases his ability. The subtle layer of strings must also be noted for helping to build the track in key parts.

‘Take The Fire’ is set for release on 22nd July. Listen to the track on Lisa’s site: http://www.lisakwei.co.uk/
