There’s a thin line between eagerness and impatience. Matt Woods, clutching his guitar, is currently balancing on it as if it’s a tightrope. On releasing his first video ‘Wash Me Clean’, Cornwall born Woods is set to make waves as he announces the upcoming release of his new EP. Hotly tipped by BBC Introducing and having been in the studio with some of the industry’s most influential tastemakers, Woods’ sound is refreshing with a raw and poetic edge.
Filming the video for ‘Wash Me Clean’ amongst Cornwall’s captivating scenery, Matt was pleasantly surprised at the reaction of the crew when they beheld the sights around them. “The camera guys were obsessed with the whole scenery and I was like, ‘To be fair, it’s just places that I know because I grew up around here’”.
Counting Ben Howard and Mumford & Sons as inspirations, Matt also cites Nina Simone and Van Morrison as helping to shape his sound. Matt’s 4-track EP “Wash Me Clean” is set for release on 9th May.
